All in a Weekend

Good morning everyone. We left Camden yesterday for our first voyage of 2010 (and Colby’s first trip ever!)…to Rockland’s Northend Shipyard to haul out for the weekend. The weather looks beautiful for these two days, sunny and in the 60’s…perfect painting weather! Lots of work for the crew this weekend but it all pays off. All this work keeps her running smoothly and gracefully. It’s always an honor to work and be a part of such a beautiful ship, even when it means scraping mussel shells out of the centerboard trunk! We hope to slide back in on Sunday if all goes well. Sorry this is short but daylight’s burnin’….we’ll let the pics tell the rest.

Have a great day. Be well. Do good.

  1. We know you and the crew all worked hard over the weekend during Mary Day's annual trip to the beauty parlor. What we are dying to hear is what Colby thought about her first ride? She is probably a bit young to be typing her own blog entries so perhaps she can dictate to you.

  2. I can't seem to help wondering how many gallons of paint, varnish, etc. go into making the Mary Day look so beautiful each year? Watching the progress on the blog is quite an education!
